Concussions

MacEwan University offers an interdisciplinary care model and multi-step return to play process in the management of concussions.

Our Athletic Therapists provide pre-season baseline concussion testing and are highly trained in concussion identification, treatment, and acute injury care. Team Sport and Exercise Medicine Specialists are actively involved in the process from diagnoses to return to play.

Frequent monitoring throughout the recovery ensures athletes are progressing well physically and mentally. Referral for specialized care in cases involving complex vestibular or oculomotor issues are part of the high-performance concussion care at MacEwan University.
